WHO'S WHO |
|
 |
Nicky Forrest (Chairman)
We moved to the village 18 years ago, I have, 6 children
Michael(22), Stephanie(20), Nathan(13), Natasha(11), and twins Katarina
and Tamara(6).
I was fund raiser for L.I.F.T pre school playgroup for 6 years . I
started L.I.F.T toddler group to be an extra part of the playgroup but
continued to run after the closure of the playgroup and have now been
running for nearly 11 years.
I was chairperson of the war memorial hall for 14 months and got the
hall back on its feet and running efficiently, and raised nearly £30,000
to put a new roof on the building until I was removed from the committee
in June 2004.
I have been an Avon representative for10 years and am a very active
member of the community helping out with the youth partnerships youth
week, school fairs, millennium green fundraisers, to mention a few. I
feel I have a lot to offer the parish council and would like to give
something back to the village and help make it somewhere we can be proud
of and our children are safe. |

Jo Duffy (Clerk)
I was born and raised in Congresbury. In 1988 I
left to complete a Fashion degree in London. There I met my husband Roy,
a Savile Row trained Visiting Tailor. After my degree I worked as an
Assistant Buyer for a well known mail-order firm for 9 years. Roy & I
both decided London wasn’t the place to raise our family so we moved
back to the West Country. We now have two children Ptolemy 6 (pronounced
Tolemy) and Eliza 2. We live in Banwell, where I used to be Parish
Clerk. My interests include my family, dog walking, local history and
regular trips to the Curzon to watch the latest films. |

Paul
Jarvis
I was born in Kent
in 1953 and moved to this area in 1985. I have always been employed by a
large insurance company where most recently I worked as a project
manager and business consultant.
In
2003 I fell sick which left me unable to work, but I am luckily still in
a position where I believe that I can devote both time and energy to the
benefit of the community.
I have
joined the Parish Council because I would like to be part of the
team
that helps make Congresbury the envy of the surrounding towns and
villages. |

Pete Sewell
I was born in 1939 in
Ipswich, and I am married with two sons, who have now moved away from
Congresbury. We came to Congresbury over 30 years ago. Prior to
retirement in 2000 I was a Project Manager in the aerospace industry.
During the past couple of years I
have been actively involved in the creation of the Parish Plan. I have
joined the Parish Council with the hope of helping to bring some of its
targets to fruition.
My main past time is DIY,
especially as I have recently moved into another house which is in need
of lots of renovation work I am also involved with the Weston and
Burnham Squadron of the Air Cadets, and keep their finances in order.

Mike Smith
I am a qualified plumber and central heating engineer and HGV1
Continental Driver and came into the village in 1981 to take over the
Spotted Horse, which sadly has been pulled down - I hasten to add was
not my fault!
I had an accident in 1987 which has left me disabled, and it is on that
ticket that I have joined Congresbury Parish Council to help the
disabled and the young in their pursuit of quality leisure time.
